Can coily hair use heatless methods?
Yes. Twist sets, braids and knots on moisturized damp hair can stretch and define coils. Expect shrinkage as the hair dries and springs back, so plan for the curls to look shorter than the set did. Handle detangling gently, working from the ends upward with a wide-tooth comb or fingers, because the American Academy of Dermatology advises combing textured or tightly curled hair while it is damp with a wide-tooth comb. Keep wraps low-tension.
